Eastern Nebraska / Re: Game Saturday August 13th at Fort Calhoun Field
« on: August 17, 2016, 10:21:24 AM »
Sorry I did not see this post in time to help you out.  Most the players are on the FB page.  I check that one periodically on game day to see if anyone needs help.  For future reference the field is directly across the highway from Frosty's Christmas Tree Farm.  I hope that helps.

Eastern Nebraska / Game Saturday August 13th at Fort Calhoun Field
« on: August 08, 2016, 12:10:03 PM »
Our next game will be on Saturday August 13th from 10 am to 3 pm at the new Fort Calhoun field.  The field is on Highway 75 between Omaha and Fort Calhoun.  The address is 2173 Highway 75.  Standard rules  set for our games apply.  Age limit of 18 and older.  There will be a $5 field fee for the land owner.  We will need liability waivers for this field.  I will put a link to the waivers at the bottom of the NME rule set.  Please print off a waiver and bring it with you to save some time so we can get on the field quickly.  Please post up if you are in so I can get a count.  Thanks!

I don't know of any players that still play at Madcow.  We play A LOT of games in the Omaha area.  None of them are posted on here as the forum medium is pretty much dead.  Check out the following FB pages: Airsoft Nebraska, Nebraska Milsim, and Nebraska Milsim Events.  We have access to several fields in the area and all the game organizers coordinate.

Long Guns / Review of ICS CXP UK1 Captain
« on: February 26, 2016, 07:19:12 AM »
Hey guys,
I applied for and was chosen to be one of fifty "ICS Captains" last year.  I figured I could score some free swag.  ICS said they would possibly send some of us free guns to T&E.  Lucky me, they sent me the new ICS CXP UK1 Captain.  Thus in an attempt to spread the gospel of ICS I completed a quick review.

Let me know what you think,

I would advise you to make the switch to Baofeng radios.  They are cheaper, lighter, and much easier to program as compared to Icoms.

Wait...OAT or Superwarrior or whatever it was called is gone?

They now call themselves Extreme Sports Omaha or something like that.  They sell airsoft, paintball, skateboarding, snowboarding and climbing equipment and DRONES!!!!  They are pretty extreme.  Who knew they had experts on staff in all those fields...

It was certainly a frustrating business from a partron's point of view.  I just got tired of their never being anything in stock and the restock never came.  I am not afraid to spend a little more to support my local business but the product has to be on the shelf in order for me to buy it.  I have heard the former owner complain via FB posts that the player base let them down because they never showed up.  I thought it was pathetic to blame the player base for your business' failure when you don't have the common sense to keep your shelves stocked with inventory.  Furthermore they never even tried to consult with the local player base about what changes they could have made to the outdoor field.  I told them a least a dozen times to rent a bulldozer and spend a few hours moving dirt and building some berms out there.  It would have made a huge difference and it would have cost relatively little.  Their outdoor field was a bunch of weeds.  I stop playing there because it was boring.

They went our out of business because they were not making enough money to cover their costs.

You should post this on the ASN FB page.  I will also post it on our page, Nebraska Milsim Events.

Tactical Gear / Re: Realistic SAPI Plate Mod

Death always made his own out of camping pads that you can buy pretty cheap at Wal-Mart.  I am sure a yoga mat would work as well.  As a bonus they flex and are A LOT more comfortable than plates.  This will make your plate carrier look more realistic without the weight and rigidity of real plates.  Real SAPI plates weigh about 7 lbs each.  Newer polyurethane plates (used on the civilian side) weigh 3.5 lbs each.

Echo has not worked at XWarrior in months.  I only go to Adult Swim during the off season.  We play about every other weekend at a couple of fields.

I would contact either of these teams:

They both call XWarrior Arena home.  One of them may be able to accommodate you.
