I defer to gunfather on this one.  It works for our purposes of concealing it between the car and the field but god forbid you get pulled over on you're way to the field I would make sure the officer is made aware of AIRSOFT rifles in the guitar bag.  Gun bags are cheap for the sake of the sport please just use proper equiptment

As long as it conceals the gun it is legal.  Nothing in the law says it has to be a specific type of case.  It just has to be transported uloaded and in a case.

just a question or you GF I've been wondering, does it mean ONLY the gun has to be unloaded, or do the magazines have to have 0 rounds in them as well?

The law doesn't specify.  Just keep the gun unloaded (no magazine in the gun).  I load my magazines the night before and keep them in my rig.  Nothing illegal about it.

P.S. this law does not apply once outside of omaha limits.  When in free nebraska, carry as you will.

For the purposes of our games, its the LAND OWNER making the demand that we case our guns when walking around.  Not a law or regulation. So respect the field owners wishes or we might lose *another* field.

We've lost a field before?  Maybe I'm just ignorant but the only field we've "lost" was the old 462nd field and I assumed it's "loss" was part of the collapse of the 462nd and not a product of someone being stupid and not obeying the land owner's wishes?  Of course, my memory of fields is pretty limited...

!! Wait what? No more games at Bubba's or the old 462nd field period? I certainly hope not, Bubba's field was amazing with the size and different terrain, and the Lincoln field was where my first games were (So you could imagine why i wouldn't want it to be gone).

If its kept in the trunk (or other non-passenger accessible area) then it's perfectly fine, the law requires it actually.  I wouldn't dream of keeping it in a place where a police officer would have to question me, my guns look real and I really don't feel like having his gun pointed at me while he figures out if mine are airsoft or firearms.

Basically, even if its a clear plastic gun, if you treat your airsoft guns the same way you would a real firearm and obey those laws governing them, there's near no problem.
