I would love to get those, but my mom is a little iffy on me getting so into this. She's afraid that i'll get to caught up in it and forget about school and all that other junk. It's stupid because i'm already dedicated to getting into the REAL military. So if I'd want a good gun the price range should be around 150-200$? Is that what id really want to play around with or would it be to sit on a shelf until an actual match with ASN? Oh, and are you aloud to paint your guns for games.? Because that is one of my hobbies. Could i possibly make some money at a game painting others guns for them? Blairairsoft1
Sorry for so many questions.

Trust me, when you get one you will never regret it. That price range sounds about perfect for a starter weapon. You won't find very many guns, if any cheaper than that on the ASN playing field. I can't help you with your parents, but I can tell you that you are allowed to paint your gun whatever you want. I don't know if there would be a high demand for paint jobs unless they are very professional. I know most people here like to pain their guns themselves anyway... Always worth a try though. And there's no need to apologize for questions. Most people here will respect you more for taking the sport seriously and making sure you are prepared.

Thanks that helps a lot. How long have most of the peope on ASN playing field been into doing this? Do you need to know any special rules, tactics, or any other general knoledge like that?

I've been attending ASN games for almost a year now. There are quite a few people on the forum who go way way back to before I was even interested in airsoft. It won't be hard for you to tell the veterans apart from the newer players. Most of them are pretty nice though so don't be afraid to ask them questions either. http://forum.airsoftnebraska.com/index.php/topic,268.0.htmlThat is pretty much all you will need to know for your first game. Rules and guidelines usually depend on the game type we are playing so they tend to differ at each event. I would say the golden rule is always "call your hits." Even if you heard a bb hit you but didn't feel it, chances are you are hit. Honesty is a major factor in airsoft. Without it, no one would have any fun.

Yea I have small little skirmishes with my friend down by the creek. Its all based on the honesty system. I have some friend that don't call there hits because they are stupid. But i hope thats not true for here. Well thanks for all the help. Can you possibly reccomend any other guns with an M4 body style or a trustworthy assult rifle?I'm not that interested in any kinds of Sub-Machine guns. Would this be a good gun o purchase it looks really cool and has good fps and range. http://www.airrattle.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CTM+IU-M4SS

That gun is an A&K S System. I know several people who have had this gun, including Mryles here on the forums. It is a pretty decent gun, especially for $104 or whatever it is. It's rail system is nice metal, pretty sturdy, internals can't tell you much about but the ones I've shot are pretty good. But for the same price you can get a JG or Echo 1 (Maybe without the rails) that I'm guessing would have better internals. Overall though i wouldn't tell you that gun is a bad choice.

Any of the M4s or M16 variants that say enhanced version would be best.

For about $190 you could go with an amazing G4-A3 .... http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_302&products_id=5120If your worried about price let me tell you something, I am 14 (in 4 days), I have been playing for over a year now and I saved up a lot of money through out the summer. I work for it, and I made enough to buy an Echo 1 E90 and a G4-A3....which now has quite a few upgrades.... you dont have to buy a gun right now though, its snowy, games aren't as common....

If you are willing to spend $170, i would not suggest a JG or Echo1. I would suggest this G&G. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_107&products_id=4726I own and have a friend that owns a JG. Mine an m4 his an m16. The difference between the two were so different non of the parts were interchangable. Minus the gearbox, but with that I would advise against the JG for what cost you are willing to spend.

Well I have decided on which gun to buy! Finally! well not quite....im not gonna buy the gun until mid summer for various reasons. Do you guys have games in the summer? Here are the two guns im thinking about getting, im not 100% sure which one yet but here they are...... 1) ECHO 1 Task Force Black Full Metal MK5A5 Airsoft Gun 215$ --I like the A-5 stock better than the A4 2)G&G Full Metal PM5-A4 Airsoft Gun ( Battery / BBs / Charger Package ) G&G Full Metal PM5-A4 Airsoft Gun ( Battery / BBs / Charger Package ) 265$ --I like that this one comes with charger and battery, but I also like that due to the full stock you can have the larger battery. Well im not 100% sure which one like I said but can I ask what you guys think of these two? One last thing? If I am going to get hardcore into this sport (which I hope to) I want to get some Oakley shooting glass's. Well can airsoft guns that shoot 400+ FPS crack oakley sunglasses? Or damage? Thanks for all of your help so far guys! Kyle

Thanks for all of your help so far guys! Kyle I personally would take the G&G over the Echo 1. ECCA standard for Safety Glasses is no thinner than 3mm center thickness for the lense. If you get perscription lenses it is recommended that if you have a + script then you should have a 3.5-4mm center thickness. If you have a - script then it is recommended a 5mm center thickness. The frames should be supported all the way around the lense or cover over 180degrees past your eye line (or the center line of your temples).

To elaborate, if you really want to risk a pair of 80+$ sunglasses to airsoft, thats your perogative, I personally have seen M-frame Oakley's shatter at sub 400 FPS w/ .20's. You would be better off investing in a good quality and RATED pair of safetyglasses (ANSI z87.1+ minimum) then purchasing an 80$ pair of sunglasses and using them. Dont get me wrong, I have every bit of confidence that my Oakley Juliets would last in an airsoft battle, but they simply dont offer the protection to your eyes that a proper set of safetyglasses or goggles guarentees
