In late fall of 2006, unknown terrorists attacked 23 major US cities with modified nuclear weapons. The resulting attacks devastated the country. Millions of US citizens were killed and even more were displaced across the nation. Small rural towns like that of Jericho and New Bern, KS. were left to fend for themselves. Cut off from the rest of the world, without power or resupply, these towns quickly became targets for raiders. Contractors from the private security firm "Ravenwood" were traveling through Kansas at the time of the attacks. Members of Ravenwood fell upon the town of New Bern looking for supplies such as food, medicine, ammunition, and gasoline. The people of New Bern greeted the contractors with open arms offering small stores of supplies. Ravenwood wanted it all.

A firefight quickly erupted when the local gun shop owner tried to stop three of the contractors from removing the remaining stock of hi-powered rifle ammo. Ravenwood personal quickly killed the shop owner and turned on the New Bern citizens that were watching from the street. New Bern police officers returned fire but they were quickly cut to ribbons by automatic assault rifles carried by the contractors. New Bern citizens quickly scattered while Ravenwood personal cleaned out the general store of all remaining food and emptied the pumps from the only gas station into their trucks and fuel containers. Three more contractors raided the local pharmacy, removing the last of the towns' medical supplies and one Doctor Link. Ravenwood personal then loaded back up into the vehicles and sped out of town just as armed civilians returned to the scene and began to open fire. With Ravenwood depleting the majority of New Bern's supplies and kidnapping the town's only doctor, action must be taken. The only choice for New Bern is to find the contractors and reclaim what was taken, in Doc Link's case, he's needed alive. Without supplies and medical personal, winter survival for New Bern is impossible.

New Bern mayor Phil Constantino and a sizable group of armed citizens quickly gave chase to the Ravenwood trucks. They trailed the contractors back to an abandoned estate house about 25 miles outside of town. Constantino and his men surrounded the estate and breached an entrance on the lower level. Both sides fought for what little was left, in the end, only the group that controls the last vestige of the old world will survive through the winter.

The TOD
Here at Midwest Airsoft Guerrillas we believe forward progression is key in the sport of airsoft for all of our participants. With that in mind at every event we will be introducing a simple yet very effective, Tactic Of the Day. The TOD will be a demonstrated by the staff at MAG during the safety briefing but it is up to the player to implement it on the field. The TOD will always have some application towards the game for that day, we will make it something you can practice throughout the day and hopefully it will make the game more enjoyable for you as the player. You learned stuff too!

Tactic of the day: Winter Harvest

Weapon Transition:
How many players own pistols and carry them in every game but have never even once used them? How many of you think it's just a cool piece of gear and really doesn't have any practical use on the field? We hope today that we can teach you different. Today we are targeting Weapon transition, which is, switching from your primary weapon to your secondary weapon depending on range or type of environment you may encounter. Today we are playing CQC - Close Quarters Combat - there are ALOT of small rooms and tight corners. Being familiar with your sidearm may save you a trip back to the respawn point.

CLEAN-UP
The owner of the property wants us to leave it as we found it! This means cleaning up the ammo we expend. That doens't mean EVERY SINGLE bb must be picked up, but 80% of them do need to be removed from property. This is NOT mandatory of players, but would be appreciated.

HIGHLY SUGGEST THE USE OF BIODEGRADABLE AMMO

Special Rules Include...
Ammo Restrictions
Environmental Effects - Ambit Noise and Visually Impairing Devices
Props
Uniform Requirements
Special Medic Rules

Basic Field Rules
1. FULL SEAL GOGGLES ONLY:
While this generally constitutes goggles, shooting glasses-style protection may also be worn as long as it creates a full seal around the eyes. An elastic band or other type of strap for keeping the face protection securely sealed is required at all times. Mesh Goggles, regular shooting glasses, eye/seeing glasses, USGI sun/wind/dust goggles do not meet our requirements. No exceptions. Eye protection must conform to ANSI Z87.1 compliance or better.

2. ANY PLAYER UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST HAVE FULL FACE PROTECTION:
This includes paintball/airsoft masks only. This rule does not include those players over the age of 18 but it is recommended that ALL players follow a full face protection guideline.

3. THE SAFEZONE:
The Safe Zone is exactly that, a safe zone that is not in play on the field. While in the safe zone the players may remove their goggles, rest, perform any needed repairs or address any other issues at hand, etc. At no time is firing your airsoft weapon in, at, or out of the safe zone acceptable. This includes test firing or dry firing your weapon. If you must do so, you may go to the designated firing line at the field to perform these functions. Any player caught firing into the safe zone from the field of play will be ejected from the field without refund.

4. ACTING IN AN UNSAFE MANNER:
This includes physical contact, threatening others, using nonprofit explosives, combustibles, etc. We do not tolerate an unsafe environment, and we are all adults. If you are unsure what this rule covers, just remember that anything that may compromise player safety while on our field is unacceptable.

5. ALL "CLASSIC" GAS AIRSOFT GUNS MUST HAVE A TOURNAMENT LOCK:
Due to the ability that classic type airsoft guns can adjust their velocity on the fly, all "classic" airsoft guns (brands like JAC, Asahi, Kokusai, etc) must have a NPPL certified paintball Tournament Lock affixed to their external pressure regulator. A quick goggle search on Paintball tournament locks will further clarify this issue. Also, all "classic" gas airsoft guns are subject to random chronograph checks throughout the day.

QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS ABOUT THE FIELD OR RULES MAY BE DIRECTED TO BREECH ONLY

During the course of some events, certain pyrotechnics may be used or allowed at the field. this covers mostly smoke type pyrotechnics. Please check with the individual event requirements or game day rules for further details on what type of smoke pyrotechnics will be used/allowed.

General Field Information
No drugs or alcohol allowed on the field.
Smoking is only permitted OUTSIDE OF BUILDING - YOU WILL FIELD STRIP YOUR BUTTS!

private team boards will be up shortly

In order to maximize the playable area, we are not having a traditional staging area. We are asking all players to only bring inside the building what they need. Extra ammo, gas, and batteries are suggested to be stored in packs. Each team will have a "Warming Room" that will be equppied with a heater and is suggested where you should store the small amount of gear - your pack - that you do bring into the building.

We will stage on the first floor, but when the game starts, we will be playing through that area. For reloading or breaks, head to the warming room set up for your team. Now these rooms will NOT hold your entire team. You will need to be wary of this and maybe take casual conversations to outside of the building, allowing playing teammates the much needed space to reload or change out a battery.

While the game is in motion, you must keep you goggles on while inside. Outside, there will be a small pop-up with another heater, this will be an outdoor "goggle free" area, the only goggle free area during the game will be OUTSIDE of the building.

We will break every 2 to 2.5 hours for small breaks. During these breaks, the building will be goggle free.

Damn this looks fun. Too bad I don't have a gun under 350.  embarassed Never been to a CQC game. Does anyone use one of those triple shot spring shotguns? I was considering getting one that's why I'm asking.
