I am thinking about purchasing one of these with my income tax return.  Obviously I would also purchase a 110 cylinder with it so it will be field legal.  Is it worth it?

WOW! that's is some bit of kit right there. if i had that much money to burn then i would defo buy one but i don't have that much spare. one question that's pops into my head though is would that give you much more range or accuracy over a tweaked $300 m4? i only ask as these are the only two things which i would like to improve with mine (and reliability as mine is a bit temperamental).

Gunfather, are you interested in it because of the bolt lock feature? If so you might consider just getting a scropion mofset from AWS. It offers the bolt lock feature for all AEGs. I don't know any details on price because I am waiting for them to respond. I will post a link in case you are interested. I guess it all depends on what aspect of the PTW interests you. You may be able to find a cheaper way to achieve the same results. At this point I turn the floor over to Dr. Whiskey. Paging Dr. Whiskey!  grin

Is it worth it?

Simple answer: NO, hell no, and f**k no...  You will get one, and your accuracy will blow so much dick you wish you had not purchased the gun.  Dont get me wrong, it's a decent bit of kit, but no where near it's price tag.

If you can find a place that has the CELSIUS CTW for sale, (PTW clone) by it instead as Celsius actually pays attention to their customers and a lot of the issues with the PTW where resolved in the CTW.

There are better things than a CTW/PTW though, a normal AEG will do the same thing at a fraction of the cost... if the only reason you want a CTW is because the reliability issues... then the PTW/CTW is just as bad as a normal AEG, but far more expensive to fix.

Granted, if you do get either the PTW/CTW, I want to see it Cheesy

So what exactly are you trying to say here?   grin

Seriously though I like the bolt stop feature and the interchangeable springs.  I also want something that is more realistic for work training and most important MORE RELIABLE.  This would be as much a work gun as a playing airsoft gun.  It is just an idea I am bouncing around in my head right now.

Here is another possibility.  Once again not sure if it is worth it.

Here is another option and, according to Whiskey, a better option.  I just hate airsplat.

FYI Evike has a pre-order going for the Celcius version. Here's the link.

The Celsius CTW definately appears to be a smarter buy.  Thanks for the link Gunfighter.

Yes, this has definately perked my interest.  Does anyone know if the Socom Gear guns use standard M4 magazines?

Should use standard magazines.  It's a VFC M4 with Noveske parts added to it.  It will not provide the features you were looking for.  The Bolt catch does work, but not in the sense that the CTW/PTW does.  IE, it's just there for looks more than for actual use in combat for reloads.
