The point the article wsa trying to make was that it may not be the best idea to stack up on the exterior of a building if you've got a suicide bomber sitting inside. There are plenty of problems with current room entry tactics. These problems are less of an issue in police work because of the mindset often associated with criminals in general, i.e. wanting to survive or make money. Those same instincts don't always apply to terrorist or insurgents. Additionally military forces are much more likely to encounter IED's than police forces. So the whole concept is that maybe instead of teaching soldiers to rush into a building maybe a better tactic would be to cordon of the area. Give ample time for civilians to leave after being serached and then hit the place with overwhelming fire power. Of course the democrats and liberals wouldn't like it, but combat tactics shouldn't be chosen for political suitability.

With reference to airsoft, since most people don't play on organized teams that practice regularly, would be nice though, it might be better to stick to more basic concepts. Stuff like hey you see that window. Shoot anything that moves in it. Most groups are not going to have time to rehearse set piece tactics over and over and over again. Not to mention, that doing that kind of training would bore the average airsofter pretty quick.

Well I havent done too much of this being iv been in since april but  i felt the best method is the police.we used 3 fire teams A,B and C and the squad leader kinda over saw everything, but we just did kind of a leap frog kinda thing.and when came across a window or stair case we would post someone at them til we got it cleared...

I'd have to agree with the idea that there isn't much difference.  If you think about it, the potential threats that both encounter are inherently the same.  You go into a building, not knowing what the other person has set up for you.  You go in and potentially could encounter an armed person that wants to kill you.

Off topic...Grenade, do you go by another name?  I played with the 172nd ROTA back in Grants Pass.  This is Tanto, from the Lord's Legion.
