May 23rd event

No Video board so I'm posting in picture. Ok everyone out there that had a camera. Thisi s the thread for all the pictures and video from the event today (May 23rd). I am in the stages of editing just the video we took, it's pretty low quality and EXTREMELY shaky. Kind of hard to tell what is happening at points but a couple parts are good. So if we get all three together and take the best of them and put it together and figure out the timeline of them we can get this looking awesome. I'll post the URL of the video I'm making now once I get up so you can see some of it before the big video is made.

OK guys! First video is up. Only our camera, none of the helmet or gun cam yet. It's 8 minutes long..pretty good....The quality is kind of bad but you can tell what's going on..Hope everyone likes it, once  i get the other camera shots it's going to be amazinger.

Nice picture, nice video, although the camera guy needs to not shake so much   We watched all the helmet cam video from yesterday, and it needs major tweaking, the helmet cam set up in general, it doesnt sit right for when vector is shooting, so all you see is that is down and to the right of vector when he shoots  so yeah...  There really isnt anything good on the video, not even in the last game... the quality is great though, just need to tweak the set up so it works better

Yeah, the helmet cam is a tough one to setup.  I am leaning towards picking up a second camera and running both a helmet cam and a gun cam.  Too difficult to get full coverage with just one.

If it helps, the way I set mine up was to sew a large patch of velcro on my helmet cover and then used a 2" piece of adhesive backed velcro on the camera's helmet mount.  That let me tweak it just to be just where I wanted it.  Vector's setup looked similar to my first attempt with the same issues he had.

lol you should see the 2 seconds of video where whiskey turns to shoot ryles all you can hear is him laughing really loud. So there's like nothing at all worth watching on the helmet camera? Not even any little bits of fighting? And obsurveyor what about your gun cam, did it get anything good?

By the way, we'll try and get a better camera sometime...It's just so small and it's not like a movie where your on a cart, you have to film while running lol..But thanks for the comments, I know it isn't the best quality but..That's what we have for now...

All you see in the firefights is the ground next to Vector, between that you see people running around and the sound isnt the worlds greatest, but the sound part isnt an issue, you just dont see anything.  Vector is thinking about (I'm typing for him since he's playing Xbox360 right now  ) getting a second camera for the guncam/helmet cam dual set up.

We watched the entire game and there really isnt anything terribly impressive to watch for the entire game length, even Vector's epic rush to your team's fort is ruined by the fact that when he is poking around the corner all you see is the ground and a little bit of the tree's next to vector.....

Damn..That sucks...It would be cool if we could get a helmet cam to get good shots sometime. lol I didn't even realize I left parts of the end of the video in it. I din't mean too...Oh well...Kind of screwed up the very end but I don't crae it's not the worst video I've seen. Maybe if we ever have enough cameras, having one or two set up in places where big firefights always happen wouldn't be a bad idea. Plus the gun and helmet cams.

Still going through the footage.  I do have some decent(but far away) footage of Piro finishing the escalation game with the safety kill over the barricade.  Saber took my camera out for a round too, so I have all that to look through as well.

I think the next hurdle for me and my camera setup is going to be figuring out a way to put a longer lens on what will be my gun camera.  These cameras, as-is, are set up for a first person perspective but long range engagements in the woods against people in camouflage and the relatively low resolution(640x480) means that it is difficult to see things far away.  I took my camera apart(one screw to slide it out of the waterproof enclosure) today to take a look.  The stock lens is threaded(and threadlocked) to a plastic enclosure covering the cmos imaging sensor.  Maybe I can tweak the focus for further distance or find a different lens online.

One thing I found, even with the enclosure off, the microphone is still crap.  Wish I would have remembered to turn on my recorder for this game so I had sound too.
