Here's my idea for this thread: just think of something (preferably VERY specific) you'd like to learn or be trained in from another local player. Here's mine:

RedRoc: How to low-crawl (at a running pace!) directly at someone and still be dead stealth. Also, how to hold an front heavy weapon so steady with one hand while doing it!

Oldsoldier: At a glance, being able to see every level of cover and concealment and instantly knowing where safe and danger areas are.

Gunfather: Finding positions to generate mutually supportive fires without thinking.

Echo: Seems like there is no such thing as difficult terrain to you. Amazing. (Redroc gets credit for this as well).

P.S. I call dibs on training time. Cheesy

Gunfather - Communications, something about being on a radio four days a week for eight hours at a time... something, cant quite put my finger on it Smiley

RedRoc - Same as Vector. Sneaky sneaky sneaky!

Oldsoldier - Common sense approach to tactics

Death & Spaulding - "Brother" like team work, it's like you guys are psychic with each other or something

mrrex4 - randomness... seriously, what the heck?

Good idea for the thread btw!

Gunfather... 2nd about the radio thing. not that i want to use police codes or anything, but I think he probably has a really great grasp of what tactical coms should be like.

Actually using some of them wouldn't be a bad idea to communicate if the enemy is able to listen in on you like at Killing fields. Not that there's too many police codes that would even work but i can think of some. Not that everyone should know all of them either. Or we could come up with our own codes?

Let me think.

Whiskey-How to open a Gearbox and learn how to fix stuff

All the admins-How to set up games and go about setting up big stuff, I'd like to do it some day

I'd like to learn tactics. Not sure who would be the best for that but I'd like to learn any of them. Possibly SWAT Tactics would be cool if there ever is any CQB scenarios.

Phoenix - I'm willing to teach you (or anyone else) CQB or any other military tactic.  I've tought CQB to my Unit/Platoon before we deployed and am currently the senior instructor at my unit.

There was mention use of Police codes for radio communications, being a Police officer and a Soldier, Police codes are nice but really aren't for Mil-Sim, there are a few that will work.  The military has similar "codes", they are called brevity codes.

I've put it out before that I am I willing to teach anyone anything, but that was around the same time of Black Omega and training left a "bad taste" in players mouths.  But, if people are willing to learn, I'm willing to teach.

That would be awesome. If we could find some building, small or large or any kind or place to practice them. I know how to like search builldings and stuff using police tactics but it isn't really the same as what the military would do. But if we ever had any kind of CQB training or those kind of scenarios I would definately be in.

Actually, you would be surprised at how much Police and Military CQB tactics cross over and are the same.  If you can get a place and enough people, I will put a class together.  I will also post the class on-line so everyone could see it and know what to expect.  If it's not fun, no use in doing it either.

I would be completely up for learning cqb tactics.
From Gunfather and Echo their ability to effectively coordinate fire for advance,
Piro and Limee I need to learn their ability to move around so quickly without notice,
and from claydoh how I never seem to cross paths with him,  does he nap on the field??  sorry had to throw in the old man  joke

I want to learn how to pick out players in hiding better.  I know sometimes it's near impossible, but in my first game, I couldn't really see any of the people, even as I was getting engaged/hit.  Near the end I saw a couple of exposed players, but by the time I saw them, they were already showering me with plastic.  So basically everyone who was on the Defense team for Game 1 my first time out, I wanna find you!

from what i have learned is when getting shot at I try to listen for the gun shooting and gauge direction. From there I look for breaks in the environment or a face. Sometimes looking for the gun is easier. As far as a standard search I look for any brush that might be moving against the wind or just motion in general. As gunfather once told me the first thing you see is someones face. But really I believe its just how well you can pick irregularities.

I almost forgot I gotta learn Whiskey's upgrade and maintenance of guns, out of curiosity, gunfather or echo, are you on the radio together, or using hand signals or have you worked together long enough that you predict each others' actions?
