One of the things often forgotten is gun camoflage is breaking up the outline of the gun.  Camo tape and or paint still leaves somthing not found in nature, a straight line break in the pattern between gun and background.  And the color patterns used are "hunting" patterns designed to confuse the vision of game animals, man has a differant color and texture vision spectrum.

Using a gun wrap with "flower ties" breaking the outline will cover any stock gun better than any paint/tape job.

im using Camo Form Gun Wrap It's about 12 dollars for 4yards I also like the feel it gives the gun. Almost feels like  gasuss. What do you mean by flower ties I prob just call it something else

What I used was a burlap light brown base, with small green and darker brown color "worms" died into the base burlap.  I drap the wrap over the gun, and after cutting small 2 foot long strips from the base burlap tie several "flower knots" along the length of barrel, where the edges are frayed and pointing in all directions.  Replicates the ground base color and the small "twig" effect when colse to ground.

I will try and doll one up here asap and post.

The current ground base color here is a light brown, dead grass color, no real green yet.  I vary my burlap cloths by area, season and base background colors.  An example of bad color matching for terrain was seen this weekend with the one rifle predominantly "green" and dark, the other only core colored with straight lines dominant.

true that paint and "tight wraps" aren't the best but if you paint and use some loose wrapings like burlap it works great, that way in case any spots the loose wrap doesn't  cover will not show up so bad.

Paint is better than all black though even if it is straight lines.  Time to dig out my photo's.

TM M14 was a Wood Stock version but the wood looked terrible.  This was before it self destructed into millions of peices.

At Operation:Enduring Rain 2

My Warrior 1 is painted the same way, I dont have any in the environment it was suposed to blend in with but I do have some with it in an environment Cheesy  These are all pre fake magazine mod.

It may not be the greatest camo pattern but both guns looked rediculous.  The warrior1 was all black and in the desert it stood out like a sore thumb, in the woods doubly so.  The M14 was just agrivating me.  I was going to spray my current M14 but I've since sold it to Vector and I'm buying the G&G M14 Veteran for less hassle Cheesy
